Barn Plans
After our farm was featured in Country Homes, Country Gardens magazine, and also in the Seattle Sunday Times Northwest Magazine section, we received many requests for the plans for our Stable and Harvest Barn. Customers coming to the farm also wanted to purchase the plans, so we arranged with our architect to secure the right to the architectural drawings so that we can now offer copies directly to you. Scroll to the bottom of the page to see photos, exterior drawings and basic floor plans.
Stable: The basic Stable plan is for three 12 x 12 box stalls, with an insulated tack room. Two of the stalls can be custom-sized because of the type of materials we used for the interior. We can provide you with contact information for the interior stall product, doors and metal stall dividers, as well as other details about how we have designed the interior of our barn. The shed roof that appears in the photograph of the Stable was added after construction, and is not included in the plans. (Three sheets, at 1/4" to 1' scale; pole barn construction.) Interior photos will soon be available on the website.
Harvest Barn: This is an all-purpose barn, used for equipment and tool storage. We have used it as a temporary "Country Store" during our on-farm sales. The double-wide entry doors allow for ample room to move equipment in and out and the loft design allows hay (or equipment/tool) storage above. The insulated "Cider Room" in our barn houses a refrigerator for our produce and stores snacks and beverages to have handy when working outside. We love the design of this barn and it could be adapted to your own use. (Two sheets, 1/4" to 1' scale; concrete slab on grade construction.)
The price for either set of plans is $135.00, plus 8.6% sales tax for Washington State residents. Additional copies may be purchased for $5.00 per set, plus tax, when applicable. We will call or send you an e-mail to confirm your order before sending the plans.
DISCLAIMER: These plans are sold "as is" and "with all faults." All implied and express warranties, including warranties of salability, are hereby negated, excluded and disclaimed. To assure that these barn plans meet the esthetic and technical requirements of your local environment, governing jurisdiction, laws, codes and ordinances which pertain to the purchaser's building site, the following local design and engineering professionals may be required to review the plans: professional building designer or architect, professional consulting civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and/or geotechnical engineers.
The purchasers should obtain a qualified, professional review of these plans (and such review may be required by your local building permitting jurisdiction) and competent inspections of the building during construction and upon completion to assure the safety of the building and to certify compliance with local codes. This barn is not designed for human occupancy.
With the purchase and/or use of these plans, the purchaser accepts responsibility for consultations and inspections recommended herein and agrees to hold the sellers of these plans harmless from any and all claims, liability and injuries which may result from construction or implementation of these plans, or which may occur upon the premises during or after completion of construction.
Plumbing, mechanical and electrical designs are not included. These designs should be obtained from local contractors or engineers to assure compliance with the applicable mechanical, electrical and plumbing codes in the purchaser's geographical region, as well as to provide the system types most acceptable to the owner's needs.
